Frequently asked questions

How much does a breast lift with implants cost in Turkey?

Listed packages on &NewMe currently range from €3,550 to €9,380. Check whether the implants (and which brand) are included. Cost guide

Is it done in one operation?

Usually yes; some surgeons stage it for very stretched skin. Ask which approach they suggest.

Do the implants need to be replaced?

Implants are not lifetime devices; the chance of another operation grows with time.

Breast lift with implants: what to expect

Short answers to the questions we hear most. Your surgeon will advise on your own case.

What is a breast lift with implants?

A breast lift with implants (augmentation-mastopexy) combines two operations: the lift removes loose skin and moves the nipple higher, and the implant adds volume, especially in the upper breast. It suits people whose breasts have both dropped and lost volume - often after pregnancy or weight loss. If you only need one of the two, see breast lift or breast augmentation.

One operation or two?

Many surgeons do both in one operation. Some prefer two stages (lift first, implant months later), especially for very stretched skin, because the combined operation has a higher chance of needing a touch-up. The weight of an implant can also make the breast drop again over time. Ask your surgeon which they recommend for you and why.

Sources: BAAPS - Breast uplift.

What scars will I have?

The same as a breast lift: around the areola, usually a vertical line, sometimes a scar in the crease. The implant usually goes in through these incisions. Scars fade over many months but do not disappear.

Implant lifespan and risks

Breast implants are not lifetime devices. The longer you have them, the more likely you are to need another operation (for example to replace or remove them); some people need this after about 10 years, others much later. Known risks include capsular contracture (scar tissue tightening around the implant, making the breast hard), rupture (silicone implants can rupture silently - MRI or ultrasound is used to check), BIA-ALCL (an uncommon lymphoma of the immune system linked mostly to textured implants) and symptoms some people describe as breast implant illness (such as tiredness and joint pain). Mammograms are safe with implants - tell the radiographer you have them.

Sources: NHS - Breast enlargement; FDA - Risks and complications of breast implants.

Combining a lift with an implant adds the lift's risks: wound-healing problems, thicker scars, uneven nipples and changes in sensation.

What does recovery look like?

  • Operation: usually 2 to 3 hours; usually 1 night in hospital.
  • Work: many people take about 2 weeks off.
  • Exercise and heavy lifting: usually not for about 6 weeks.
  • Support bra: day and night for several weeks.

Your surgeon will give you their own timings.

When can I fly home?

Most surgeons want to see you for a check before you fly home - ask how many days they want you in Istanbul (often around a week) before you book flights. Long flights soon after surgery raise the risk of blood clots: walk regularly, drink water, and ask your surgeon about compression stockings and whether you need anything else for the journey. Plan who can help you lift luggage.

Breastfeeding and mammograms

Many people can still breastfeed, but this cannot be guaranteed. Mammograms are safe with implants - tell the radiographer.

If something isn't right after you're home

  • Your coordinator stays with you through recovery - message them first with photos if something worries you.
  • Remote follow-up with your surgeon is part of the process after you return home.
  • Complication insurance is included by most providers - check your quote for what it covers.

For a fever, a hot, red or rapidly swelling breast, heavy bleeding, chest pain or breathlessness, get medical help at home straight away, then tell your coordinator.

How do I choose a surgeon?

  • A specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, registered on HealthTürkiye (the Ministry of Health portal) and operating in a hospital authorised for international patients.
  • Before-and-after photos of patients with a similar starting point.
  • A written quote naming the surgeon, hospital, nights, what is included and the revision policy.
